How Sonder Seoul Started
Our Story
Inspiration drawn from Korean culture and a desire to foster authentic connections.
From the heart of Korea, to the hearts of all who seek peace and connection.

Why we started
'Sonder' is the realization that every person we meet carries their own unique life, soul, and story. This word awakens the truth that "everyone is doing their best to live in their own way," and it opens our hearts to understand and empathize with one another.
Sonder Seoul was born from the founder Bonnie's global experiences and reflections of living in Seoul and within Korean society. There were many moments when it was hard to protect ourselves due to the judgments and evaluations we face for being even slightly different.
Living in Korea, where societal standards and the gaze of others are often seen as a survival mechanism, can make it difficult to discover who we truly are and express our authentic selves. Yet, the crucial truth is that, regardless of external differences—be it race, religion, or background—we all share the fundamental desire to be loved and connected. Realizing this has brought immense joy and liberation, and has sparked a deep desire to share this experience with others.

Vision
We envision a space where people can truly connect, share love, and experience spiritual growth, beyond external appearances, race, religion, and the roles we play in life.
At Sonder Seoul, you can reconnect with your true, peaceful, and centered self, experiencing a genuine, warm, and loving connection with others.

Mission
We provide English-led wellness experiences that blend yoga, meditation, and Korean culture, fostering connection and inner peace for individuals in Seoul.
Through yoga and meditation, we offer a space to focus inward, discover ourselves, and embrace coexistence with others through acceptance, non-judgment, and love. Sharing small pieces of love and kindness with others strengthens and expands our lives.
Rooted in Korea’s warm "Jeong" culture, Sonder Seoul strives to create a space that respects personal boundaries while fostering safety and belonging for all.
